    CERT members apply the last touches to the new trailer for emergency gear. Funding for outfitting the trailer was supplied by Wilton Kiwanis and Wilton Rotary.


    Courtesy of Wilton Fire Department, CERT has an SUV that will become CERT's mobile command post during "Call-Out" events. The radio gear within will prove to be a marked upgrade in better enabling communications between CERT "posts" and interoperative with Fire, Police, and EMS units. This vehicle is stocked with CERT safety clothing and traffic control equipment: Signs ("ROAD CLOSED", "DETOUR", "DANGER AHEAD",etc), Expandable Barriers, Traffic Cones, Flares, Fire Extinquishers, First Aid Supplies, Tool Kit, Flashlights, etc. Click on a picture below for a larger view.



    Wilton CERT has been awarded a Homeland Security grant toward the purchase of a 12 foot trailer to house and transport our traffic control, first aid, and personnel safety equipment ( the FD SUV can no longer contain all of our gear: barriers, signs, cones, generator, lights, tools, etc, etc). Supplementing the grant, in a very meaningful way, Wilton Service Clubs, Kiwanis and Rotary, have made generous donations that have been dedicated to completing the purchase price and covering the cost of fitting out the interior and logoing the exterior.

  • Equipment:
    Wilton CERT has begun utilizing a new automated telephone dispatch system called "Code Red". This new system provides several options:
    1. While listening to the recorded message, you can hit any key on the phone, and the entire message will be repeated.
    2. You can call the Code Red number (866-419-5000) from a phone that originally received the message and the last message will automatically be repeated.
    3. In a message, we may ask you to hit a particular digit which then can be tracked and retrieved off the system, i.e. If you plan to attend the meeting, please hit 1.
