Anne Richards is the Queen Bee of the Frankly Scarlet ("I Don't Give a Damn") Chapter of the Red Hat Society located in Wilton, CT. In addition to a long career as a teacher, mother of three sons, administrator, and financial manager, she has been involved with a multitude of volunteer organizations. She has lived in New Jersey, Illinois, and Connecticut and is now an administrator for the Business Center at Dolce Conference Center in Norwalk.
Her present volunteer work includes a recently completed two year term as President of the Wilton Arts Council where she expanded the focus on the arts for Wilton, particularly for school students.
She has had a forty year involvement with Sweet Adelines International, a barbershop singing organization. Her present group, the Harmony On The Sound Chorus has been chosen as the best of New England ten times over the last twenty years. Her singing has taken her to England, China, Russia, Italy plus multiple cruises around the country from Bermuda to Alaska. She also started the local all-women singing organization -- The TrebleMakers -- who steal the show wherever they appear. In addition, she sings with her husband and another couple in a mixed barbershop quartet called The Grandmas and Grandpas.
She has been a long-time member of the Wilton Woman's Club, and was recently chosen President of the Wilton Encore Club. She has been continually involved with a wide range of church work which includes singing with choirs, and helping manage church publicity and operations. Recently, she became a clown and is working with the Stamford Hospital Health and Humor Associates (HaHa), cheering up patients.
